RAPID is built entirely in .NET and sits on top of Microsoft Content Management Server 2002 (MCMS) RAPID works with both Standard and Enterprise Editions of MCMS.
RAPID accelerates the development of MCMS projects and provides enhancements to the core product.
Production-quality Solution Sites. RAPID solution sites provide a high quality starting point for MCMS projects. RAPID currently ships with RAPIDOrange; a solution site aimed at public sector projects. RAPIDOrange focuses on accessibility and contains rich features, search integration and is multilingual-aware. RAPIDBlue, our solution site with a more corporate feel, is available free of charge as a RAPIDExtra.
Developer Framework. RAPID's rendering framework is at the heart of the solution and completely abstracts content and presentation via a sophisticated system of controls, XML templates, XSLT transforms and CSS styling. Everything is overridable and extensible and the full source code is available through the partner programme or customer source code access agreements.
Site Editor Enhancements. RAPID fixes gaps in the authoring process of the core MCMS product, for example by providing out of the box email notification, a new field called 'review date', extensive metadata capability including public-sector style taxonomies and many others.
